What the job involves.
Interior restoration is part of what XS Roofing does, and water leaks and sheetrock with mold are on the list of storm damage we repair. Our job is to bring the home back to pre-storm condition, and on a roof that has been leaking for a season that means work on both sides of the decking.
The order is not negotiable. Nothing inside gets rebuilt until the roof above it is watertight, because a repaired ceiling under a roof that still leaks is a ceiling you will repair twice. That is also the order an insurance scope is written in.
How It Works
Free inspection
Call and we set up a detailed inspection with a certified hail, wind and storm inspector. It costs nothing whether or not there is a claim in it.
File the claim
If we find damage, you sign our contract for us to work with your insurer, then you file. Send us the adjuster details and we set up the appointment.
Meet the adjuster on the roof
We are there to represent you. Afterwards the insurer sends you paperwork, and you forward it to us before signing so the scope can be checked.
Install and final inspection
Colors chosen, old roof off and disposed of, new system and ventilation on, the site swept, and a final inspection to close it out.
The Difference
Where these jobs go wrong.
What a slow leak leaves behind is usually more than a stain. Insulation that has been wet holds water against the drywall, and drywall that has stayed damp for weeks in a Texas attic grows mold on the cavity side where nobody can see it. Cutting the affected section out is the only way to know how far it ran.

Interior Repair, answered.
Do you fix the ceiling as well as the roof?
Yes. Water leaks and wet sheetrock are on the list of storm damage we repair, and the interior work follows the roof rather than running alongside it.
Is interior damage covered by my policy?
Where the roof damage that caused it is covered, the resulting interior damage usually is too. It has to be documented, which is why photographs of the ceiling matter as much as photographs of the roof.
What about mold?
Drywall that has been wet for weeks grows mold on the cavity side. The affected section comes out rather than gets painted over, and how far it has run is only knowable once it is opened up.
How soon after the roof is fixed can the inside be done?
Once the cavity is dry. Rushing that is what traps moisture behind new drywall, and drying time depends on how long it was wet and how much insulation held water.
