Hail Damage

What the job involves.

Hail damage on an asphalt roof is rarely dramatic from the ground. What it leaves is a scatter of bruises where the granules have been knocked loose and the mat underneath has been fractured, and those bruises do not leak for a year or two. By the time water comes through the ceiling the claim window has usually closed.

That is why the inspection matters more than the repair. If you have been through a severe storm in North Texas, call us and we will look over your roof for free with a detailed inspection. You get to know exactly what to expect, and it ends the daily parade of door-to-door salesmen telling you what they can see from the street.

How It Works

01

Free inspection

Call and we set up a detailed inspection with a certified hail, wind and storm inspector. It costs nothing whether or not there is a claim in it.

02

File the claim

If we find damage, you sign our contract for us to work with your insurer, then you file. Send us the adjuster details and we set up the appointment.

03

Meet the adjuster on the roof

We are there to represent you. Afterwards the insurer sends you paperwork, and you forward it to us before signing so the scope can be checked.

04

Install and final inspection

Colors chosen, old roof off and disposed of, new system and ventilation on, the site swept, and a final inspection to close it out.

The Difference

Where these jobs go wrong.

Hail does not stop at the roof. We repair anything with storm related damage: wind damage, blown shingles, fences that have been torn down, back sheds with hail hits, gutters, windows, water leaks, sheetrock with mold, and trees that have come down on decking or framing. Our job is to repair the damage and bring the home back to pre-storm condition.

Hail, wind and storm damage are an insurance loss on a homeowner policy. Where damage is found, it is the insurance company that pays the cost of replacing the roof or the other parts of the house, less your deductible.

Before You Call

Hail Damage, answered.

How do I know if I have hail damage?

From the ground you usually cannot. The signs that are visible are dented gutters and downspouts, dented soft metal like vents and flashing, and granules collected at the bottom of the downspout. The roof itself needs someone on it. The guide on this site walks through what an inspector is looking for.

How long after a storm can I file?

Texas policies generally give you a window measured in years rather than months, but the practical deadline is shorter: the longer you wait, the harder it is to tie the damage to a specific dated storm. If a storm went over your street, get it looked at that season.

Will filing a hail claim raise my rates?

A hail claim is a weather event rather than something you caused. It is treated as a natural disaster and should not count against you personally for future rate increases.

What if the adjuster says there is no damage?

It happens, and it is the reason we ask to be on the roof during the adjuster appointment rather than waiting at the curb. Two people looking at the same slope will still disagree, and a disagreement you are present for is one you can do something about.

Do I need to replace the whole roof after hail?

Not always. Where the strike is confined to one slope or one elevation, a partial repair can be the right answer, and we will say so. The estimator and the claim checker on this site will give you a sense of which way yours is likely to go.

Every one of these starts with somebody standing on the roof.
