What the job involves.
Gutters are on the list of what we handle after a storm, and they are on the list of what an insurance scope covers. They are also the part of a hail claim most often left off, because aluminum dents visibly where a shingle hides its damage, and a scope written from the driveway records one and not the other.
Function matters more than appearance in North Texas. A gutter that has been knocked out of pitch by hail or by a fallen limb holds water at one end, and water sitting in an aluminum trough through a summer is how the seams go. What it drops on the ground matters too: a downspout discharging next to a slab is a foundation problem in a clay soil region, which is most of Tarrant County.
How It Works

Call and we set up a detailed inspection with a certified hail, wind and storm inspector. It costs nothing whether or not there is a claim in it.
File the claim
If we find damage, you sign our contract for us to work with your insurer, then you file. Send us the adjuster details and we set up the appointment.
Meet the adjuster on the roof
We are there to represent you. Afterwards the insurer sends you paperwork, and you forward it to us before signing so the scope can be checked.
Install and final inspection
Colors chosen, old roof off and disposed of, new system and ventilation on, the site swept, and a final inspection to close it out.

Gutter work is easiest while the roof is off. The drip edge, the fascia and the gutter hanger all meet at the same line, so replacing gutters during a re-roof is both cheaper and neater than coming back for them.

Are dented gutters covered by insurance?
Where hail caused the denting, yes, and they are part of the same claim as the roof. Dented soft metal is one of the first things an inspection photographs, because it corroborates the hail event.
Should I replace gutters at the same time as the roof?
It is the cheaper order to do it in. The drip edge and the gutter hangers meet at the same line, so doing both at once avoids a second mobilisation and a second set of fascia holes.
Do you install gutter guards?
Ask at the estimate. Whether a guard is worth it depends more on what is overhanging the roof than on the guard.
Where should the downspouts discharge?
Away from the slab. In clay soil, water dropped beside a foundation swells the ground on one side of the house, and extensions are a cheap fix for an expensive problem.
